It is often very beneficial for a landowner to have an estimate as to the value of his standing timber. When looking at a tract of timber land to possibly purchase, when selling property, and when preparing for a timber sale are all good examples of when a timber cruise and evaluation are beneficial. Timber inventory information may also be helpful when a management plan is being prepared.

It can aid in deciding whether to cut a stand of trees now or to let it continue to grow. It can also be useful when considering the purchase of a tract of young trees. We use computer model technology and data collected in-house to estimate the future volumes and values of young planted pine stands.
